PaPaSeat portable child bike seat experience from French mom and dad

French (Dürr) Mom & Dad review experience with PaPaSeat.

Original blog provided by Mompacker.com in Chinese.  Translated by Mega Productions Co., Ltd. for PaPaSeat.
So this is our experience of using PaPaSeat.
This experience is through MomPacker.com that provided me with PaPaSeat child bike seat.  Thank you MomPacker for sending this item to me in France to allow us to experience a new way of riding a bicycle with my child.
PaPaSeat packaging is great for gift giving.  (For those who do not know what to give for friends or relatives with a new born this this is a great item to give.)  Opening the packaging have a feel of receiving a gift.  I like the art work on the box which is very cute and artistic which reminds me of my childhood experience when I rode on my father’s motorcycle along with my mother.  Great memories!

After opening the box, my son immediately stop playing with his Lego and sat on PaPaSeat (don’t imitate please…)  Within the packaging there is PaPaseat, seat belt, plastic protective covers to prevent PaPaSeat from contacting bicycle frame and instruction manual.
Honestly, the first time holding PaPaSeat I was surprised that it was so light!  Also, there are no tools or screws that require for assembly.  It came already ready to use.  My husband and I contemplated if PaPaSeat actually works and if it’s safe to carry my son without falling down.  However, after feeling PaPaSeat it feels extremely well build and sturdy.  Installing is very simple and quick.
PaPaSeat folds up and can be easily carried without taking a lot of space.  (Can you tell from this photo?)
My husband was so curious about PaPaSeat that he ignored my instructions and took it to the garage and install it on his bicycle.  Yes…his ironman bicycle (God…), I was doubtful that his bicycle will be able to install PaPaSeat.
And then…

It really works!  (My mouth wide open…)
I was expecting my son to scream and complain about riding with dad but he did not!  However, my husband did listen to me for installing PaPaSeat lower.
Also, my son actually wore a bike helmet.  It’s only during taking photo that his helmet was off or else you will only be able to see the helmet and not his face.

I have to admit I was doubtful about the simple and light weight bike seat for the safety of French.  However, after riding a couple of circles around the city of Dürr near our house, it became natural.  They even began to pose to take pictures!

And then, we road out of our community for about 2 kilometers around Le parc de la Perraudière where there large plots of green grass and cute little animals.  During our bike ride I thought I heard my son said “Faster!” I was shocked that I turned around and look at dad to confirm if it’s my imagination.  I saw my son’s joyous expression which confirmed it wasn’t my imagination.  My son was enjoying riding on PaPaSeat!

After arriving at a part, we found a wonderful walkway.  With no one around we quickly took some more perfect photos…What a wonderful experience!  Mommy wants to be in the photo too!

Because we had friends over for lunch today, we only were able to test ride for about 45 minutes prior to sunset.  However, my son was extremely happy during the bike ride.  Prior to PaPaSeat, my son was always riding on the back seat of the bicycle which I blocked most of his view.  Frequently, when he whimper or not making a sound I had to stop riding and ensure there is no danger around and then check on him.  With PaPaSeat in the front, it’s convenient for me to monitor him at all times.  Also, PaPaSeat is small and light-weight almost let me feel it doesn’t impede my riding.  (It’s really natural using PaPaSeat.).  My husband insisted it’s a great experience taking a immersive bike ride with my son.
I know my son loves bike riding even more now.  Before when we were to leave the house he would go straight to the stroller now he walks to the bicycle.
Final Thoughts:
(1)          Adjust the bicycle seat to appropriate height.  Confirm PaPaSeat is stable and does not sway.
(2)          Make sure to put on the seat belt for safety.  Adjust the seat belt to appropriate length.
(3)          Mom or dad get on the bike first then carry the child.  Then put on the seat belt and go!
* Although my son is not yet 2 years old as PaPaSeat suggest but I had no problem carrying my son.  Just make sure your child is capable of balancing and not tired before riding.
